Cecilia Mark-Herbert

Cecilia Mark-Herbert
Cecilia arbetar som lektor (docent) med forskning och undervisning i marknadsföring och management med inriktning mot hållbar utveckling och fokus på företagsansvar (corporate responsibility). Hon är speciellt intresserad av den gröna sektorn – produktion och konsumtion av livsmedel, fiber, energi och upplevelser i ett cirkulär ekonomi-perspektiv. Dessa intressen framträder i såväl undervisning och handledning som i forskning och dialog med andra samhällsaktörer. För Cecilia som lärarexcellent person är dialog och pedagogikintressen också något av en röd tråd i case-baserad undervisning och interaktiva seminarier.

Presentation

I sin forskning har Cecilia sin grund i doktorandprojekt som innebar forskning om innovationsprocessen, närmare bestämt utveckling av hälsosamma livsmedel (så kallade “functional foods”). Hennes intresse för mat, fiber, skapande av mervärden och etik i marknadsföring kvarstår (CSR). Hon forskar inom marknadsföring med inriktning mot fiber, livsmedel och tjänster i de gröna näringarna (främst lantbruk och skogsbruk).

Rollen som pro-inspektor vid kåren på Ultuna ger en uppskattad insikt om studentperspektiv på universitetsverksamhet.

 

Undervisning

Cecilia roll som lärare är främst inom företagsekonomi med fokus på marknadsföring och vetenskapliga uppsatser. Både undervisning, handledning och forskning är inriktad mot marknadsföring med hållbar utvecklingsinriktning. Hon arbetar också med lika villkorsfrågor och är intresserad av pedagogisk utveckling. 2018 Lärarexcellens.

Forskning

Grunden i Cecilias forskning ligger i innovationsforskning med fokus på utveckling av radikalt nya livsmedel som har hälsomervärden (functional foods). Hennes intresse för livsmedel, mervärden och etik kvarstår. Efter doktorandarbetet som avslutades 2002 har hon fördjupat sig i marknadsföring med inriktning mot socialt ansvarstagande (CSR).

  • Ett nyligen avslutat forskningsprojekt som var ett samarbete med Helsingfors Universitet och LUKE (2020-2023) handlar om bostadshus i trä "Knock on Wood".
  • Ett pågående forskningsprojekt, som leds av Anders Roos (2023-2025) handlar om agroforestry, produktion cch konsumtion av Tamarindus Indica i Kenya. 
  • Ett annat pågående forskningsprojekt (2022-2025), som leds av Malin Jonell (KVA, SU) är fokuserat på hållbar utveckling i dagligvaruhandeln för livsmedel. 
  • Under 2024 börjar ett fyraårigt Kamprad-finansieat forsknings projekt som är ett tvärvetenskapligt projekt om förutsättningar för nätkassefiskodling i Norrland. Projektet leds av Hanna Carlberg och Anders Kissling.

Miljöanalys

PRME-certifiering (Principles for Responsible Management Education) av SLU  är en hållbarhetscertifiering av universitetet som helhet på basis av innehåll i mastersprogram inom företagsekonomi (MBA-program).

Bakgrund

En naturvetenskaplig grundexamen (inom livsmedel och medicin) banade väg fortsatta studier inom livsmedel och ekonomi (agronomexamen). Efter ett par års arbete utanför akademin (marknadsundersökningar och utredande arbete) fortsatte Cecilia med ett externfinansierat doktorandprogram i företagsekonomi med inriktning mot marknadsföring och specialisering på innovation management. Hennes erfarenheter av studier utomlands (i Kanada och USA) har inspirerat både fortsatta ämnesfördjupningar och pedagogiskt lärande.

Pedagogiskt intresse är också tydligt i Cecilias handledarroller. Hon har handlett kandidatuppsatser (20+), magister och marsteruppsatser (200+) och doktorander.
