SLU Internal Workshop – Identification of Knowledge Gaps within Continuous Cover Forestry

When: August 20^th, 2025, 9-15

Where: Relaskopet, Umeå; TBD, Ultuna; TBD Alnarp; and Zoom.

Who should come: Late-stage PhDs, postdocs and researchers interested in CCF-related work and developing grant proposals.

What's it about?
In the morning, we’ll share short updates on ongoing CCF-related projects and highlight what infrastructure is already available to support cross-project collaboration. Martin Goude and Charlotta Erefur from the Unit for Field-based Forest Research will give an overview of CCF infrastructure.

In the afternoon, we shift focus towards a workshop-format to identify synergies, gaps, and collaborative opportunities. This is your chance to:

• Look beyond your own data or research questions and see how your work connects with others at SLU.
• Break out of habitual project boundaries (e.g., "this is my Formas grant, those are their trials") and consider shared goals, infrastructure, and research themes.
• Engage with other fields or expertise areas that might add value—like involving ecologists in growth studies, or economists in forest trial interpretations.
• Work toward developing the seed for new project proposals
