Open Seminar

Sweden has a long history of cooperation with Vietnam in the forestry. During that time (some 40 years) Vietnam has grown from a poor country to a rapidly developing economy. In the forest sector a globally renowned reforestation program involving smallholders and enterprises producing for the market has been implemented within a policy framework and contributed to rapid forest transition and socio-economic growth.

In connection with the “International Week” at SLU, the Department of Forest Resource Management has invited two Vietnamese colleagues to an open seminar for introducing and discussing issues of forest resource management and development in Vietnam with interested staff and students. Some attending Swedish participants (SLU resp. Swedish Forest Agency), previously been engaged in forestry cooperation with Vietnam, will add comments and moderate discussions on potential cooperation in this field.
