Andreas Johansson

Presentation

I hold a Master's degree in Political Science from Umeå University and a PhD from Luleå University of Technology. My general research interest focuses on the role and prospects of democracy in the face of escalating environmental challenges and rising calls for technocratic and eco-authoritarian decision-making. I am particularly interested in exploring deliberative democracy and investigating what this normative ideal can and cannot achieve in addressing complex environmental issues. My work aims to understand how democratic processes can be strengthened and adapted to meet the demands of sustainable governance while ensuring public participation and inclusiveness.
