Presentation
I am a trained Architect and Urban Planner who is currently pursuing a PhD in Landscape Planning at SLU Ultuna under the supervision of Mattias Qviström, Johan Pries (University of Lund) and Greet De Block (University of Antwerp). I have a keen interest in the fields of landscape, urban, and regional planning, and to varied degrees, I engage with policy and spatial analysis, field and archival research methods, mapping, and other forms of scientific representation.
My current research attempts to reposition prevalent theoretical debates on models from the fields of architecture, planning history, and philosophy of sciences within the context of landscape and green planning. Specifically, I critically explore models of green planning related to questions of form and formation through the lenses of performativity and performance practices in the context of postwar reconstructions and critique to modernism. The green belt of the modernist capital Brasília, the 1952 General Plan for Stockholm, and the city's renowned green wedges serve as case studies to question the "blueprint approach" to models based on "end-states" and self-referentiality. Beyond stable rules of success and failure across global divides, I highlight a model's gaps and fractures, which open up possibilities for disruption, refusal, and resistance against its own inner workings, totalizing desires, and ontological positionings.
