REG-gruppen på konferens och workshop i Lancaster

Publicerad: 08 maj 2017

Förra veckan var forskargruppen för Entreprenörskap på landsbygden på en kombinerad konferens och workshopresa till Lancaster, Storbritannien.

The trip started with a two day conference in Grange-over-Sands. The goal with the conference was to get feedback on drafts of papers in different stages. The entire group from REG, including our guest professor, attended and brought a paper for discussion. We took advantage of the wonderful weather and alternated between article sessions and tea in the lovely garden. What differs this trip from other conferences is that we got to discuss our papers in detail with a small group. And as it was drafts we presented no one expected the paper to be fully developed yet, hence the atmosphere was very positive and developmental. Going away to Lancaster further enabled us to focus on our task at hand, not distracted by other duties at the university.

On Thursday we attended a workshop at Lancaster University with the theme Entrepreneurship & Context. The workshop is a recurring workshop that we hosted two years ago in Ultuna. Hence, there were many familiar faces to discuss our emerging research agenda with. REG was also involved in the workshop program. Both Johan Gaddefors and Alistair Anderson held key note speeches. Johan presented his latest paper about sheep being entrepreneurs which resulted in some giggles from the audience. Alistair talked about a theory of practice of entrepreneurship. Maria Tunberg summarized the workshop and organized the discussion following the key notes.

On Friday we had a joint reflection on our stay in Lancaster which ended the trip on a very positive note.
