Shaping the Future of Dialogue at SLU

seminarier, workshops |

This workshop is part of a larger process to explore how dialogue with and between different actors can be strengthened at SLU. Together, we will begin shaping what such an initiative might look like, and how it could serve SLU research and collaborations in the future.

At SLU, dialogue already takes place in different corners of the university, but often in disconnected ways. One idea under discussion is the creation of a “dialogue centre” – a shared hub that could connect existing initiatives, support new ones, and serve as a learning space.

This participatory workshop, aimed at SLU researchers and staff, asks:

  • What is the value of using dialogue at SLU?
  • What challenges do we face?
  • What future potential can we imagine?

“Dialogue can be thought of as a Swiss army knife: a versatile tool for addressing many challenges”

The workshop is organised by SLU Future Food in collaboration with:

  • Society for Transformative Conversations – A community developing conversational methods to address complex societal challenges.
  • Interdisciplinary Academy (IDA) at SLU – A program that brings together researchers from across SLU to collaborate on pressing challenges through dialogue and shared inquiry.
  • Mistra Environmental Communication (Mistra EC) – A research program exploring how communication and dialogue can enable sustainability transformations.
  • TABLE – An international platform for knowledge exchange and dialogue on the future of food, working to reduce polarisation in food systems debates.

Welcome to take part in the workshop on site in Uppsala or via Zoom.
