The speakers:
Gunilla Eklund holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine and is a Seconded National Expert at the European Commission, DG SANTE, focusing on antimicrobial resistance and the EU’s One Health strategy. She is also Deputy Director at the Swedish Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure and brings extensive experience in veterinary public health, food safety, and global health security, including work at FAO on AMR in the food chain and environment.
Eric Fèvre is an epidemiologist whose work is focussed on emerging disease issues at the interface between humans, animals and the environment that they share. His research portfolio includes a number of infectious disease issues of relevance to East Africa, where he is based at the International Livestock Research Institute. Part of his work is focussed on AMR in livestock and the environment, and he has been leading the implementation of a national AMR surveillance system together with national counterparts.
