About the ULS PhD Student Council

Last changed: 13 February 2023

The ULS PhD Student Council forms part of the Ultuna Student Union (ULS) and represents the approximately 340 doctoral and licentiate students at the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences (NJ).

The council handles questions about research and doctoral studies at the NJ faculty. It represents the NJ faculty’s doctoral and licentiate students in committees and councils at faculty and university level, as well as on nation level in the Swedish Student Union (SFS). The committees and our representatives can be found here.

The council holds 6-8 meetings per year to gather and discuss current developments at the departments, at the NJ faculty and at the university. The meetings are led by the board. Attendees include representatives from each department and PhD students who represent the council in faculty and university committees. The annual meeting in May is open for all PhD students at the faculty. During the annual meeting, we elect representatives and the board for the coming year.

Your opinion matters! The council is a forum to meet and discuss questions related to research and doctoral studies. You are always welcome to contact the council with ideas about how to improve or change the doctoral studies. Also, let us know if you want to get involved in the council’s work! If you have questions or problems in your study situation you can contact one of our representatives in the council, or the doctoral student ombudsman/counsellor.
