Terminating your employment

An employee must always resign in writing. The employer and employee may agree on a shorter (or longer) notice period than those listed below.

When an employee resigns, the following notice periods apply (in accordance with agreements):

 Employment period     Notice period  
 max. 1 year  1 month
 more than 1 year    2 months


The employment period refers to the period during which you, in a row, have had one or more employments by the Swedish Government

Please use the form Employee resignation. Complete and sign the form, and submit it to your manager.
