Call for funding for educational development projects

The Board of Education has allocated SEK 1.5 million in 2023 for strategic initiatives aimed at further developing SLU's education at undergraduate and advanced level. The initiative relates to educational development projects and can be applied for by teaching staff.

The Board of Education will assess whether the initiative has been successful, and whether a continued funding in the coming years is justified and possible.

Purpose

The purpose of the pedagogical development projects is to stimulate individual initiatives in education and pedagogy in areas where needs have been identified. Through the projects, the idea is that the quality of education can be improved in parts of the education.

Projects dealing with interdisciplinarity as well as digital literacy and e-learning are encouraged.

Application

  • The project application must be approved by the head of department and contain a summary, project plan and CV.
  • Application opens 2023-02-17.
  • Applications are designed according to instructions on the staff web and submitted no later than 2023-04-16.
  • Detailed instructions on what should be included in the application and the attachments are stated in the web form.
  • Please note that the summary must be uploaded as a pdf and signed by both the applicant and the head of department (scanned or with electronic signatures).
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed and additions after the application deadline will not be considered. However, in exceptional cases, the prefect's approval can be sent to the registrar separately, but no later than April 18.
  • All submitted applications are automatically sent to the registrar.

Assessment criteria

Applications will be assessed on the basis of the following aspects:

  • Potential significance: how well the project supports the pedagogical development of education at undergraduate and advanced level at SLU.
  • Quality and feasibility: keeps the project good quality and how feasible is the project (realistic time and project plan)

Preparation and decision

Submitted project proposals are prepared by a group consisting of four excellent teachers and a representative from the Unit for Educational Development (at the Division of Learning and Digitalisation), as well as a representative from Sluss.

Decisions on which projects are granted funding are made by the UN President.

Notification of approved projects will be given at the end of May 2023.

Financial management

Granted funds are transferred retroactively after a final report has been approved according to the time frames specified in the decision.

Presentation of results

The results of the projects are presented in a written final report and presented at SLU's education conference.
