In the autumn of 2025, SLU will begin using the functionality for Individual Study Plans (ISPs) in Ladok.
Doctoral students who plan to defend their thesis after 2026 and currently have their Individual Study Plan (ISP) in the ISP portal will have their ISPs transferred to Ladok. Doctoral students who expect to complete their studies during 2026 do not need to have their ISP transferred. The process of transfer will be carried out department by department, starting in October.
The transfer of ISPs from the portal will take place on a departmental basis, and during this process, the ISP portal will be closed for data entry. Prior to the transfer, each department will be contacted with further information.
The preliminary ISP used in connection with the faculty’s admission decision will continue to be managed outside Ladok. Additional information regarding this process will be provided separately.
As of 1 January 2026, all ISPs for all doctoral students will be managed in Ladok. The decision-making process in Ladok will follow the same structure as in the ISP portal: the supervisor and the doctoral student collaborate on the ISP, after which the supervisor forwards it to the department’s Director of Studies (or equivalent) for review. The Director of Studies then submits the ISP to the Head of Department for approval. Should revisions be required, the ISP will be returned to the doctoral student.
Principal supervisors and administrators are responsible for entering the relevant information in Ladok, while doctoral students enter their information in Ladok Student.
Further information about Ladok ISP is available on the staff web.
Instructions from Ladok can be found here. These include both videos and illustrated manuals showing how to work with an ISP. The materials are available in both Swedish and English, and are tailored for both supervisors and doctoral students.
Manuals specific to SLU will be developed and published shortly.
