The concept of Soil Health is gaining traction in the scientific literature and media coverage as well as in policy discussions. Ways to incorporate this concept into agriculture, forest management, and urban planning are being discussed across departments within SLU. But questions remain: what exactly is Soil Health and is it a useful concept that can be applied in a scientific framework?
This workshop aims to explore Soil Health from an interdisciplinary scientific perspective. We invite SLU researchers from various fields to participate. Our aim is to foster a cohesive understanding of Soil Health among SLU researchers, examining areas of agreement as well as any differing interpretations and practical applications surrounding its use. In the long-term, we aim to develop a roadmap, e.g., a white paper, for improving Soil Health in Northern Europe.
