Calculating and allocating tuition fees
The amounts given refer to tuition fees as of the 2024/25 academic year. Tuition fees are comprised of three components:
- A basic fee that depends on the type of course or programme, see below.
- A study administrative fee intended to cover recruitment, reception and service costs, scholarship and fee management and administration of accommodation.
- A central appropriation fee aimed to cover, among other things, jointly funded teaching premises.

The basic fee for individual courses is based on the reimbursement levels for each disciplinary domain to the faculties at the time the tuition fees were approved.
The basic fee for programmes is based on each programme’s division into disciplinary domains and the reimbursement levels for each disciplinary domain to the faculties, at the time the tuition fees were fixed. The internal costs for programmes in the different allocation categories are as follows:

The study administrative fee and the central appropriation fee are removed before the remaining part of the tuition fee is distributed to the departments in question via the faculties and in the same way as direct funding.
Funds are normally allocated twice yearly (for the spring and autumn semester respectively).
