Meeting for Programme Directors of Study at SLU
As several programmes at SLU are currently facing declining application numbers, we have invited Sara Arvidsson, Head of the Communications Division, to this PSR meeting. Together with Sara, we will discuss:
  • How can SLU’s programmes become more visible – and where should they be visible?
  • Widening participation – are there groups of prospective students we are missing?
  • What can and should we as Programme Directors of Study contribute to recruitment efforts? What are we doing today?
  • Henrik Viberg and Åsa Bensch (Distinguished Teacher), both Educational Developers at the Division of Learning and Digitalisation, Unit for Educational Development (EPU)
  • Sara Arvidson: kommunikationsdirektör, SLU

How can we create learning environments that foster both care and justice – for everyone?

We will be live streaming the keynote sessions so that even those of you who cannot attend in person in Ultuna will have the opportunity to participate.

This interactive keynote explores how education can become more inclusive by centring those who are often pushed to the margins: individuals living with trauma, disabilities, or other forms of marginalisation. The role of the teacher is also brought into focus. How can you care for your students without burning yourself out? What happens to your wellbeing when societal changes seem never to pause?

You will gain both new perspectives and practical tools to engage with these issues in your teaching. The presentation demonstrates how you can contribute to a more just and sustainable education – while also finding a sustainable way of being a teacher yourself.

Forskningen visar att framtidens lärmiljöer kommer att vara varierade, innovativa och inkluderande – men vad innebär det i praktiken?

I samarbete med flera svenska lärosäten, däribland SLU, har Akademiska Hus utforskat rumsliga svar på pedagogiska utmaningar, både teoretiskt och praktiskt. I denna session presenterar vi aktuella exempel och arbetssätt för att utveckla lärmiljöer som stödjer studentaktiv pedagogik och sätter studenternas lärande i centrum.

1d. Hur stöttar jag lagom? Att möta studenter som mår dåligt

Vid universiteten har vi på många håll sett en tydlig ökning av studentantalet, och som lärare möter vi allt fler studenter som mår dåligt.
Vilka möjligheter och vilket ansvar har jag som lärare och medmänniska att stötta dessa studenter? Vilket stöd och vilka resurser finns tillgängliga för oss lärare, liksom för studenterna själva?

Denna session behandlar hur en krisprocess kan se ut, etisk stress, empatitrötthet samt självmedkänsla. Vi diskuterar även verktyg för att ta hand om sig själv.

1e. Learning under attacks: The Ukrainian Classroom in a Changing World

I dagens föränderliga värld finns inget viktigare än att reflektera över sin egen kunskap och sina egna förhållningssätt.  Till hösten lanserar biblioteket Studium Generale – ett bildningsprogram för studenter och anställda. 

I denna session får du veta mer om vad som händer under hösten och själv prova på en metod som används för reflektion inom Studium Generale.

This activity gives you the opportunity to discuss and share experiences on one or more pedagogical topics relevant to your current teaching.
These topics may involve challenging situations, events, teaching advice, as well as good examples of working methods and new educational activities. YOU DECIDE! Of course, we also have suggestions for interesting themes if participants don’t bring their own.
