View schedule for students

Last changed: 01 June 2026

Now that course schedules should primarily be in TimeEdit, how should students be able to see their course schedule?

SLU is introducing digital course schedules in TimeEdit (TE) Viewer, making them available in the same place for all courses. This new interface features real-time updates, a uniform look, and easy calendar integration for students.

What should I do as a course instructor?

Link to TimeEdit schedule in Canvas

  • Publish the course in Canvas so that the template home page (with the button to the schedule) is available to students. Other content in the course does not need to be published.
  • Test the link on the schedule button in the template home page "Start" so that it goes to the correct schedule.

  • The schedule button's link to the schedule in Timeedit is public (does not require login) and can therefore (if desired) also be shared via, for example, email.

  • Informera studenterna:

If TimeEdit is not used - Use a page or file in Canvas as the schedule

  • Publish the course in Canvas so that the room is available to students. Other content in the course does not need to be published.
  • Create a page or file in Canvas that contains the course schedule.

Tip!

On the course page there is "Information from the course leader" which is accessible on the web for prospective students before they have access to SLU's system. It is a free text field that is entered into Ladok at the time of the course.

Here you can, for example, insert links to the course schedule in the open schedule view in TimeEdit.

It is also possible to write overall schedule activities in text.
