How your personal data is processed in SLU’s Career Connect portal

Last changed: 04 November 2026

This information explains how your personal data is processed when you register for and log in to Career Connect, SLU’s career portal, as an SLU employee.

Please read all this information before creating an account.

The portal is provided in partnership with JobTeaser

SLU uses external partners for certain services; in this case, the company JobTeaser. In such cases, SLU has an agreement with the external partner to ensure that the processing of your personal data complies with applicable laws and regulations.

Your employment contract forms the legal basis for the transfer of your first name, surname and SLU email address.

If you have any questions, please contact the Division of Student and Academic Services at slukarriar@slu.se or SLU’s data protection officer at dataskydd@slu.se.

Career Connect provides career support to SLU students and recent graduates. Students can use the portal to contact companies, organisations and public authorities advertising job vacancies, work placements and proposed degree projects. Alongside regional and national opportunities, the portal offers a limited range of international career opportunities. Its career guidance modules include tools and exercises to help students plan their careers.

As an SLU employee, you can create a profile on the portal and advertise proposals for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree projects. Advertising these proposals is free of charge.

The principle of public access to official documents

SLU is a public authority and as such subject to the principle of public access to official documents. Documents that are not working documents are public documents, even if they contain personal data. SLU may disclose such documents to anyone who requests them. However, information subject to confidentiality is not disclosed.

Storage and sharing of personal data

Your personal data will be stored until you close your Career Connect account. You can close your account at any time by selecting ‘Close my account’ in your account settings. Once your account is closed, most of your personal data will be anonymised in a way that cannot be reversed.

However, JobTeaser stores IP addresses for one year because the company is obliged to do so. Your personal data is also retained for as long as required by legislation governing public records and the archives of public authorities.

When you accept the terms of use, authorised Career Connect administrators at SLU will get access to this information.

The data on the platform is stored within the EU. If your data is transferred to a country outside the EU, JobTeaser will put the necessary safeguards in place to protect your personal data.

Your rights

In certain circumstances, you have the right to access your personal data, have inaccurate data rectified, have data erased, request that processing be restricted, and object to the processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact dataskydd@slu.se.
