A more diverse forestry

seminars, workshops |
Portrait of Helena Dehlin.

Helena Dehlin is a Nature Conservation Specialist and responsible for issues related to Green Infrastructure at the Swedish Forest Agency. Helena has been the project manager for the collaborative project, “A more diverse forestry,” within the Environmental Objectives Council's program area "efforts for green infrastructure" (2020-2022), which aims to increase the pace of the environmental objectives work.

'Ett mer variationsrikt skogsbruk', A more diverse forestry, has been based on collaboration with participants from some 35 organizations in the forestry sector. The goal has been to work together to increase variation in the managed forest landscape, based on current knowledge in research and practice. The focus has been on the creation of natural and cultural values, clear-cut free forestry, and deciduous and mixed forests.

The project has held seminars and workshops, and along with regional working groups, the project has together organised 13 excursions for the exchange of experiences around the country. The project is also producing fact sheets with examples of practical measures to increase landscape diversity, with forest owners as the main target group. The first "Creating natural values through active nature conservation" is published here (in Swedish).
