Episode 24 - Lifelong learning through mentorship
Episode 24
Welcome to another exciting episode of EDUtalks.
This episode is in English.
In episode 24, we meet Paninga Muiliya, a PhD student in Chemistry at Michigan State University, a GCUA partner university. Originally from Nigeria, Paninga has long been driven by an interest in creating intercultural exchange opportunities that benefit students’ development and interest in contributing to society. With encouragement from a professor, Paninga started an international mentor network where hundreds of PhD students have mentored undergraduate students.
During the conversation, we discuss the importance of academic leadership no matter where you are in your educational journey, why it is important for PhD students to receive support to start their own initiatives, and how mentoring can promote both individual and community development.
