Ioannis Dimitriou
Senior Research Advisor at SLU Global, Vice-Chancellor's Office; Associate Professor at the Dep. of Crop Production Ecology, SLU; Vice-President The European Alliance on Agricultural knowledge for Development (Agrinatura) EEIG

My research has been focusing on designing productive systems with food and biomass crops while achieving minimal environmental impact (on soil and water quality, and biodiversity), including recycling of different nutrient-rich wastes.

Lately I am increasingly working with the science-policy interface to support the implementation of smart innovation in agriculture contributing to the sustainable transformation of agri-food systems.

Organiser of Doctoral Course “Production of non-food- biomass for a bio-based economy (5 HEC)”, SLU’s Research School Sustainable systems for food, energy and biomaterials (SSFEB).

Guest lecturer in several other under- and postgraduate courses at SLU and partner universities

Current important collaborations (selection):

Agrinatura EEIG - Vice-President

FAO - The Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP) – Steering Committee member

Sustainable Agri-food Systems Intelligence - Science Policy Interface (SASI-SPI) (funded by DG INTPA)  – Steering Committee member
