Welcome to the One Health Breakfast Club 8 April between 8.00 and 9.00. You get a short inspirational talk, some breakfast, and a chance to meet and have transdisciplinary discussions with SLU colleagues. The last sign-up date is 1 April. See you there!
Each Breakfast Club starts with a short inspirational talk, and then it's up to you to mingle and take the opportunity to enjoy interesting transdisciplinary discussions and initiate new collaborations. Whether you see yourself as a One Health researcher or not, we promise you'll find something relevant. Almost all of SLU's research interests are linked to One Health!
Sheila Holmes will share her ongoing research in Madagascar that explores synergies between carbon storage, seed dispersing animals, and human livelihoods. With her students and collaborators, she is using sensor technology to better understand the influence of human activities (including reforestation) on faunal biodiversity. Resource use by local communities is also an essential component of landscape management that needs to be accounted for. Finally, she will touch on future directions, including some ongoing collaborative work that aims to examine how restoration impacts zoonotic disease risk.
Read more about Sheila and her research!
Most welcome,
