Urban Forests webinar: Biocities and Urban Forestscapes

seminars, workshops |

Welcome to a new webinar in the open Urban Forests series, arranged by SLU Urban Futures and Future Forests. Together with Giuseppe Scarascia-Mugnozza, Head of the Biocities Facility in Rome we will explore the role of biocities, urban forests and green infrastructure in the transition to a circular economy and a better urban-nature symbiosis.

Giuseppe Scarascia-Mugnozza holds a PhD in Forest Ecology and Management from the University of Washington, Seattle (USA). He teaches Urban Forestry and Forest Ecosystems at the joint School on Landscape Architecture of Viterbo and Rome Universities.

He is the Head of EFI's Biocities Facility in Rome. His research deals with climate change impacts on trees and forest ecosystems, agro-forestry in the Mediterranean environment, the removal of carbon and gaseous pollutants from the atmosphere by trees and forests in urban and rural areas, and the forest and wood circular bio-economy.

After the presentation, we will have a discussion on Biocities and Urban Forestscapes and take questions from the audience.
