Scholarships at the NJ-faculty

Last changed: 19 August 2025

The NJ Faculty is responsible for a number of scholarships for undergraduate and Master’s students as well as teachers/researchers and doctoral students. Some scholarships are also available to graduates.

About the scholarships

You may apply for scholarships for activities that take place or commence during the current year: 1 January – 31 December.

You may apply for scholarships for the following purposes (unless otherwise stated in the criteria of each specific fund):

  • Exchange studies
  • Degree project
  • Study trip (within your programme)
  • University-level course
  • Research project
  • Internship/fieldwork
  • Course literature (relevant to studies at SLU)

You may not apply for scholarships to purchase mobile phones.

The Scholarship Committee aims to distribute the available funds to as many applicants as possible. Due to variations in the funds’ distributable capital, the amount awarded for similar purposes may differ.

Application periods

The general application period is annually, 1–31 March. However, some scholarships are announced in October, and some every other year. This will be stated alongside the information for each scholarship.

On this page you can see which scholarships are currently open for applications.

Award decisions

Decisions regarding scholarships are communicated via email through ReachMee (the same system used for the application).

Funds that cannot be paid out will be returned to the respective foundation two years after the Scholarship Committee’s decision.

How to apply for scholarships

All applications must be submitted digitally via the ReachMee system. It is important that your application is complete, including all required attachments – incomplete applications will not be considered.

  4. Many questions are mandatory. If a question is not relevant to your application, enter “NA” in the text field.
  5. Required documents must be uploaded in PDF format.
  6. If you cannot find a text field that corresponds to the information you want to provide, you may use the field “Other information”.
  7. You can save your application and return to it multiple times before submission, as long as the application period is open.
  8. If you wish to revise your application after submission, this can be done by clicking “edit” via the fund’s application button, making your changes, saving and re-submitting.
  9. Emails will be sent via the system, and it is important that you provide your SLU email address to avoid messages being directed to your junk folder. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email to the address you provided.
