Biobanking in Africa

Biobanks are an important tool for improving cancer care in low and middle income countries. These archives of genetic data from patients can improve both prevention and care.
However, such data are currently not so common and much information is lost because there is no capacity to collect and analyze data in such a way that it can be shared at national, regional and global level.
How can researchers in Africa control their genetic resources to improve prevention and care locally?
Eric Bongcam Rudloff, professor of Bioinformatics at SLU, organizes a workshop at the Uppsala Health Summit Conference 14-15 June on this subject. In this interview, he tells more about the workshop.
