The World Water day is an opportunity to remind ourselves, and others, of how vital water issues are for the global sustainability goals. That is because water connects so many of the goals, as in the classic nexus between Water, Energy and Food. “In Agenda 2030’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) water has important roles that go far beyond the two SDG’s with water in their names (SDG 6 & 14). SLU has the breadth and depth of expertise needed to create new knowledge about these connections, linking life from water’s myriad headwater sources to the sea. SLU colleagues are working on water issues in Nordic “waterscapes” and many other parts of the world, all year round, so SLU is truly a “water university”.
