Responsible for delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate instruction led by the Department of Forest Economics. Courses include: SG0216 "Industrial Wood Supply Strategy", "SG0178 Sustainable management of boreal forests", "SG0151 Forest Economics".
Research
Application of economics principles to the conservation and sustainable management of forests. Topical areas include: econometrics, forest certification landowner behavior, public policy impact evaluation, spatial econometrics, wood energy.
Cooperation
Collaborative work with the United Nations' Economic Commission for Europe (Forestry and Timber Section) as Leader of Wood Energy Team of Specialists, Associate Editor: 'Environment, Development and Sustainability', 'Public Library of Science'. Actively engaged in research with colleagues at African, Nordic and North American universities and research institutions.

Originally from Ecuador, Francisco Aguilar earned academic degrees in Costa Rica, the UK and the USA with research and development experience across the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe.
