I am a doctoral Student at the Department of Molecular Sciences. I study the probiotic activity of Lactobacillus reuteri. The bioactivity of probiotic microorganisms is essential for its beneficial function, and production parameters greatly impact the yield of bioactivity. I study this relation, assessing how production parameters affect the probiotic activity. I assess the bioactivity of Lactobacillus reuteri in various cell lines that simulate an indication of interest. To investigate the host interactions and correlation between production parameters and bioactivity, I use cell models and stress tolerance tests to evaluate probiotic activity.
