Networking workshop and guidance to research facilities in Älvkarleby

Most welcome to this lunch to lunch meeting 8-9 November with different research groups interested to know more about the research infrastructure for experimental work in aquaculture and/or running water at the Fisheries Research Station in Älvkarleby, SLU. Target group is SLU researchers and researchers from other universities. Last day to register 31 October.

We will strive to get as many different active research groups as possible represented so this will hopefully be an excellent opportunity for networking within the areas of aquaculture, running water, fish ecology and fish physiology.

This is a physical meeting since a main purpose is a on site guidance to facilities. It is ok to only participate in part of the meeting.

Thuesday 8 November

13.30-14.30 Visit to the research river and the experimental creek

15-17.00 Scientific speedtalks

Wednesday 9 November

8.30-9.30 Visit the hatchery facility, the stream aquaria and creek room

9.30-10.00 Fika

10.00-11.00 Watch the stripping of broodstock

11.00-12.00 End discussion, questions, ideas

12.00-ca 13.30 Excursion to Hyttön including a light lunch

Accommodation and travel information

The cost for accommodation and all meals are covered by seed money from SLU Aquaculture. Travel expenses are not covered.
