In the presence of H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria, the Swedish research vessels R/V Svea, R/V Skagerak and S/V Ocean Surveyor will host an open day in Stockholm. All three vessels will anchor up outside the museum Fotografiska in Stadsgårdshamnen from 9–11 June.

Changes in climate and environment affect all life on Earth, and we need more knowledge on seas as a vital resource to help us make sustainable decisions. This open day event will showcase the importance of Sweden’s vessel-based research and environmental assessment for our future.

The event is co-hosted by SLU and SMHI (R/V Svea), the University of Gothenburg (R/V Skagerak) and the Geological Survey of Sweden (S/V Ocean Surveyor).

On 9 June, H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria will attend as invited guests visit the vessels.

  • 9 June – invited guests only, separate programme and guided tour of the three vessels.
  • 10 June – invited guests only, guided tour of R/V Svea.
  • 11 June – the public are invited to visit R/V Svea. Prior registration required.
