Access to open environmental monitoring and assessment data is regulated by law, a prerequisite for management and decision-making, and useful for research. To facilitate this work, there are various portals and catalogues that collect and display available data, but it can be a challenge to navigate this landscape and choose the right path.
In this webinar, Miljödatastöd provided an overview of the platforms that can be used to make environmental monitoring and assessment data accessible. We reviewed the roles of these portals and catalogues and clarified their possibilities and limitations.

This webinar gave an introduction to how to find all SLU environmental monitroing and assessment data. Two examples of how to proceed and download data were shown.
First, it was demonstrated how to search and browse SLU's environmental data catalogue, a website that collects descriptions of open data from SLU's environmental monitoring and assessment. Then the SLU Swedish Species Information Centre showed how to use Artportalen (The Swedish Species Observation System), and the National Forest Data Lab showed how to find and download different map layers.

The SND catalogue is a national repository for data where all disciplines are welcome. In the webinar we went through how the SND catalogue can be used to publish environmental analysis data.

ArcGIS Storymaps is a tool that can be used to visualise data and create maps for the web. At the webinar, three people from SLU talked about the maps they created with Storymaps and how they did it.
