The SLU Board

Last changed: 29 October 2024

There are 15 members of the SLU Board. Eight members, including the chair, are appointed by the Government, three are elected by SLU teaching staff and researchers, and three by SLU student unions, Sluss. Naturally, the vice-chancellor is a member.

The term of office for the members appointed by the Government runs from 1 October 2024 to 30 April 2028. The term of office for those elected by SLU teaching staff and researchers runs until 30 April 2026. The periods differ as the Government shortened the standard term of office down to 17 months instead of three years for the new board that convened on 1 May 2023. The members who were elected to the board by SLU teaching staff and researchers had already been selected for the standard three-year period when the Government issued their decision.

The Joint Committee of Student Unions at SLU nominate three members, generally for a two-year period and independent of other terms of office.
