Richard Ferguson, who has been appointed head of the Department of Economics, has renounced the post of deputy member of the faculty board.

The faculty board has decided to appoint Ingrid Öborn, Department of Crop Production Ecology, group deputy for the faculty’s academic appointments board for the period 1 October 2022 to 30 June 2025 at the latest.

New professor

Following a decision by the vice-chancellor on 20 September, Markus Schmid has been appointed professor of molecular cell biology.

Recruitment of a professor of ecology

The faculty board has approved an ad for the recruitment of a professor of ecology, specialising in the role and dynamics of plant communities in changing ecosystems. This position is with the Department of Ecology.

Adjunct teachers

The faculty board discussed the possibility of increasing the number of adjunct teachers to strengthen teaching, in particular on the agricultural sciences programmes managed by PN-NJ. This issue will be raised again at future meetings.
