Many of the library books in Uppsala must be requested in advance

Published: 20 February 2025

The temporary library in Uppsala is small and can only accommodate a limited number of books and journals. This means that many items need to be requested from the stacks. You will get an email when your requested items are ready for pick-up, typically the next working day.

Materials that need to be requested are marked with “Stacks” on the library website. The images below show what it looks like for a book and a journal respectively:

When you order material from the Uppsala library's stacks, it is usually retrieved in the morning of the next working day. When your requested material is available for pick-up, you will receive a notification to your SLU e-mail. You will then find the requested item on our reservation shelf, sorted by your initials. Don't forget that you have to borrow the items you pick up from the reservation shelf.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact library@slu.se or visit us during our staffed hours (working days 10.00–16.00). You can also call or chat with us on working days 09.00–16.00. Read more about how to get in touch with us here:
