SLU publishes new sustainability report

Published: 17 December 2024

During the year, SLU Environment, SLU Global and the Agenda 2030 group have collaborated to produce a sustainability report for the university. The report emphasises, in an inspiring and easily accessible way, how SLU contributes to achieve the UN sustainable development goals.

- This report is part of SLU's work to follow up on how we contribute to the sustainable development goals, and how we can strengthen that work going forward. While there is much we need to continue to improve, it is uplifting to see so much good activity already underway. The report provides many examples of how the strong competence at the university and our fantastic collaborations around the world contribute to a better future, says Sara Gräslund, head of unit at SLU Global.

A large part of the research, environmental monitoring and assessment and education that takes place at SLU is directly linked to one or several of the sustainable development goals. In order to clearly emphasise how the university work with each goal, the report shows concrete examples from the different areas.

- Thanks to the many examples in the report, you can see the width of SLU's sustainability work in research, education and environmental monitoring and assessment, how integrated the sustainable development goals are in the daily work and the importance of collaboration to achieve valuable results. I hope and believe that this report can become an important information channel to emphasise how SLU contributes to the common goal of creating the best conditions for a sustainable, thriving and better world, says Kalle Mälson, head of SLU Environment.
