Tillsammans project 9 october

Published: 02 November 2020

The project had its management meeting on October the 9th. It has now become a habit that we can´t conduct our meetings “together” physically. All participants sat in front of their screens with Zoom and headsets, at a safe distance from each other and with good meeting discipline. Supervised and led by project manager Anders Bjurstam.

During the autumn, several of the steering groups have made great progress and Anders Bjurstam is hopeful about the continuation and the tasks to come. An important matter is profitability and finding processes and workflows to increase efficiency, primarily within UDS. - We work actively to map costs that runs the business at UDS, clinic by clinic, for clinic managers and Head of subjects, says Anders Bjurstam. Furthermore, Anders emphasizes the importance of understanding government funding calculations. Another important task that is addressed is opportunities for career paths and to secure future skills.

Nils Fall, Head of KV, says that the joint clinical management team and the scientific policy groups are up and running. - I am positive that the work is underway in several of these groups. This will give us good conditions to smoothly handle common issues, says Nils Fall.

The joint clinical management team has already agreed on processes for strategic recruitments. These will be used immediately to recruit a new head of clinic for small animals and for a deputy director for the hospital.

 - We have now carried out a patient flow analysis at the small animal clinic and we are now testing new working methods, explains Maria Engedahl, University Animal Hospital Director. We will do the same tests at the horse clinic during this autumn. This is a valuable work to increase efficiency and create a better work environment. The benefit will also be better financial situation, according to Maria Engedahl.

The small animal steering group will be strengthened. Malin Nilsson from KV will be part of the group.

The planned external workshop in the area of food-producing animals has been postponed until Q1 2021. The reason is that the focus needs to be changed to create a more interesting event for external participants. At the same time, the group needs to be strengthened with competence in strategic communication, and Ulrika Åström, communicator at VH, will be a resource for the group.
