Teacher recruitment policy at the NJ Faculty

Published: 25 August 2017

The NJ Faculty’s mission is for our subject areas to have considerable impact on society, both scientifically and when it comes to applications. We also aim for stability in terms of human resources, as this is a guarantee for long-term results in research and collaboration, as well as in teaching at doctoral, undergraduate and Master’s level.

To achieve impact and stability, the subject areas should be characterised by:

  • A sufficient number of teachers/researchers
  • Skilled teachers and researchers
  • Substantial basic funding that facilitates recruitment and enables us to plan long-term and take risks in our research.

The NJ Faculty's policy for teacher recruitment is intended to guide the faculty board in matters of principle in connection with recruitment. This makes it possible to make decisions on recruitment based on the board's perception of the general staffing need in the faculty's different subject areas. The term 'teacher' (lärare) in the policy covers professors, senior lecturers and associate senior lecturers.
