Course in Swedish for better integration at SLU

Published: 21 September 2016

Many of the researchers and doctoral students who do not have Swedish as their mother tongue consider a good foundation in the Swedish language necessary to integrate in a good way. This emerged at an Equal Opportunities seminar at the VH Faculty earlier this year. As a result, a course in Swedish is starting for doctoral students, postdocs and researchers at the VH Faculty.

The instruction will be provided by teachers from Folkuniversitetet, who have specially designed the course based on our needs and wishes. The focus will be on communication skills, at a level corresponding to A1, that is to say, very basic according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The course comprises 24 teaching hours of 45 minutes each and is being held at VHC during the autumn semester. Course participants with a passing grade in attendance will receive a course certificate.

So far, more than 30 people have signed up, a mix of doctoral students, researchers and postdocs, but there are still a small number of places left. Interested? If so, please send in your application to Ylva Sjunnesson. The first course date is 22 September at 17-18:30 in VHC.
