I work with issues regarding environment and climate change in Swedish development cooperation at Sida´s Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change. The Helpdesk expert support assist Sida to strenghten the environment and climate change perspectives in Swedish international development cooperation. More specific, we review and comment on projects and programmes, develop tools and methods for environmental integration, produce information materials and develop and perform courses and trainings in environment and climate integration.
My main areas of interest are: sustainable development (esp the environmental and social dimensions), environmental mainstreaming, environmental assessments, method development, environmental management, agriculture, biodiversity, nature-based solutions, circular systems for waste management, gender and environment, ecosystems services & poverty alleviation, and environment and human rights.
I have worked at SLU as an expert advisor to Sida when it comes to environmental integration since 2001. Before rejoining SLU I worked as a programme officer at Sida focusing on natural resourses management issuse (based at Sida HQ in Stockholm as well as at the Swedish Embassy in Nairobi.
I have nearly 30 years expereince from Swedish development cooperation, focussing on global challenges linked to environment and climate change. I have expereince from countries such as; Bolivia, Boznia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kosovo, Kenya, laos, Mozambique, Leshoto, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Viet nam, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Lately there has been a stronger focus on Eastern Europe and issues linked to migration.
I hold a MSc in Agronomy from SLU. In addition to my interest in leadership issues, I have a strong interest the global challenges and how to make more sustainable and strategic choises.
