Workshop: Create a great SciFest activity

seminars, workshops |
Two researchers talking to children.

Do you have ideas for SciFest but are unsure how to implement them? Are you interested in popular science and communicating research to children and young people?

SciFest is a great opportunity for you to meet children, young people and adults who are curious about your research. The next SciFest will take place at Fyrishov in Uppsala on 10-12 October 2024.

But how do you create an engaging activity?

In the workshop, we go through the process, step by step, of creating an interesting and target group-adapted activity for SciFest. The goal is for you as an exhibitor to receive practical and reliable hints on what you should think about, both during the planning and implementation of your activity.

Leif Hallsén (high school teacher and museum educator) and Cecilia Ödman (responsible for public activities at Gustavianum) share some successful and less successful examples of such activities.

Light refreshments in the form of coffee and buns will be served. The workshop is in English.

SciFest is a science festival with a wide range of workshops, shows, competitions, researcher meet and greets, and lectures. Since 2020, the festival is co-organised by Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.  Read more at scifest.se/exhibitors
