Theodora Mårtensson is now in place as SLU's new premises planner, based in Alnarp. This is a crucial role that will primarily focus on the development that will take place on the campus in the coming years.

Theodora is eagerly looking forward to tackling the exciting premises issues at the Alnarp campus. She says, "It's an exciting and intensive period ahead for the next few years. The new train stop in Alnarp brings new opportunities, and it's important to ensure that our facilities, which are being reviewed, are functional for our operations," says Theodora. "I don't have all the details yet, of course, but it's going to be very exciting. Besides, I enjoy it when a lot is happening," adds Theodora.

Prior to her current role, Theodora worked for the Svedala municipality, and she hopes to bring her experiences from there to contribute to SLU's premises development. She explains, "In Svedala, I had a management and project leadership role, focusing on Svedala municipality's self-owned property portfolio. Over the years, I have developed a structured approach to work with both analyzing the needs of the operations and engaging in dialogue to create an understanding of the current conditions."

Becoming a premises planner wasn't initially a straightforward path for Theodora. On the contrary, from a young age, she decided to become a flutist, and after studying at the Music Academy, she worked as an orchestra musician for several years. However, Theodora wanted new challenges, and after working as a sales manager in various industries, she eventually pursued education to become a Facility Manager, a decision she doesn't regret.

"I have now worked as a site planner for seven years, and I really enjoy my job. But after my years in Svedala, I felt it was time for new challenges. When I found the position at SLU in Alnarp, I immediately felt that this would be a good fit for me. Mainly because I was drawn to the important work that SLU conducts, especially in the field of sustainability, but also because I have a strong interest in gardening and plants. This, combined with my interest in working in a government agency, motivated me to apply. I've taken many walks in the park and on the campus, so I'm really looking forward to having Alnarp as my workplace and, at the same time, contributing to SLU's long-term goals."
