Granted funding from the SLU Climate Fund

Published: 12 November 2019

It’s official – new projects have now been selected for funding from the SLU Climate Fund!

This year, a total of 13 projects were selected:

Purchase of an electric feed mixer (Anna Hessle, Götala)
Justification: A co-funded project with clear connections to both our operation and climate work. Reduced climate effect since the mixer is used often in daily operations. The project may affect both staff and students.

GPS anchoring motor (Christian Demandt, Mälaren)
Justification: Reduced carbon dioxide emissions and improved work environment using relative small funds. An innovative project.

Electric car and charging points (Fredrik Sjödin, Vindeln)
Justification: A relatively simple measure that creates better conditions for more environmentally-adapted transport. The project has been granted half of the requested funds on the condition that it is co-funded.

Electric car (Mikael Andersson, Asa)
Justification: A relatively simple measure that creates better conditions for more environmentally-adapted transport. The project has been granted half of the requested funds on the condition that it is co-funded.

Electric car and charging points (Sönke Eggers, Grimsö)
Justification: A relatively simple measure that creates better conditions for more environmentally-adapted transport. The project has been granted funds for charging points in Grimsö.

Paper containers for pipettes (Rena Gadjieva, Ultuna)
Justification: An innovative project with high signal value in SLU's work with reducing the usage of fossil plastic.

Electric van (Johannes Albertsson, Lönnstorp)
Justification: A relatively simple measure that creates better conditions for more environmentally-adapted transport. The project has been granted SEK 150,000 out of the requested SEK 200,000 on the condition that the department provides the remaining SEK 50,000. The idea that more people should be able to use the car is good and should be furthered.

Synergy control (Kristian Landsten, Ultuna)
Justification: A project that can contribute to improved digital meetings and teaching at the forefront of development, and which can be useful to many. Additionally, it is positive for the SLU brand.

GS-VMAS video equipment (Kristina Dahlborn, Ultuna)
Justification: The project can contribute to SLU meeting the environmental objectives and the vision of a climate-neutral university. Additionally, it benefits many and is positive for the SLU brand. The allocation of funds is on the condition that the meeting room continues to be bookable for all staff members.

Video conference room for digitalisation and teaching (Johan Lindersson, Ultuna)
Justification: The project benefits many and involves development of current teaching, as well as the possibility of teaching at the forefront of development, which will be even more important in relation to the doubling project. The SLU brand may be affected positively. Additionally, the project can contribute to SLU meeting the environmental objectives and the vision of a climate-neutral university.

LED lights in barns (Reija Danielsson, Lövsta)
Justification: A project with clear connections to both our operation and climate work. The project may affect both staff and students.

Energy mapping (Mats Pehrsson, Lövsta)
Justification: A project with clear connections to both our operations and climate work. The project may affect both staff and students. The project will be granted funds on the condition that the Climate Fund's steering group may take part in the improvements related to the measures taken since 2015.

Train travel to Portugal and travel diary (Anna Schnürer, Ultuna)
Justification: The result will be reduced carbon dioxide emissions and general behaviour changes using relatively small funds. The project may strengthen the SLU brand.
