Precision agriculture and its role in sustainable cropping systems

We hope to give a broad overview on ongoing research in the area of precision agriculture as well as to give examples on how the use of technology can support sustainable cropping systems.

Mats Söderström and Jakob Geipel have many years of experience as researchers in the area of precision agriculture. Both were involved in national and international research projects covering a wide range of precision agriculture applications. Igor Tihonov is fonder and CEO of a start-up company called Solvi, based in Gothenburg. The company is specialised in drone based crop monitoring and an exciting example for transferring precision agriculture research in to practice.
