SLU is a scientific partner in the Baltic Sea Science Center - a knowledge hub on the Baltic Sea at Skansen. On this page you find basic information and contact details for SLU's BSSC coordinator.

SLU’s commitment is part of the work to raise the level of knowledge about Baltic Sea-related issues in society and to reach out more broadly, especially to young people.

The exhibition reflects life in the sea, human impact and future solutions.

Facts:

Since opening in April 2019 through 2023, the BSSC had approximately 2 million visitors. About half of the visitors are foreign.

The total number of lessons with school classes since opening up to and including 2023 is 1512, of which 493 were completed in 2023.

Together with Stockholm University and Stockholm Vatten och Avfall, SLU is the knowledge guarantor for the content of the exhibition. The Skansen Foundation runs the day-to-day operations.

SLU's current agreement for collaboration with the BSSC applies for 2022-2024.

SLU's NJ faculty coordinates SLU's activities and cooperation at BSSC. The coordinator for SLU's participation in BSSC is Elin Dahlgren.
