Follow the development of the new slu.se

Published: 13 May 2025

During Midsummer week, the new slu.se will be launched. You can already take a sneak peek at how the new website will look and follow its progress on the so-called beta site.

Development is still ongoing

Not all functionality is complete yet. For example, there is currently no complete search function. While final development is underway, SLU’s web editors are working hard to ensure content is in place for launch.

Will everything be ready by launch?

Not entirely. The guidance for all web editors is to start with the most important and most requested content and ensure it meets high-quality standards. Additional content can be added gradually, even after launch.

The new website will also not include a new version of the course catalogue (current course search) at launch. This is because the underlying system that retrieves data from Ladok is being replaced with a new system. As soon as the new system is in place, work will begin on building the new course catalogue on slu.se. In the meantime, the new website will link to the current course search on the student web.

More websites will be launched this autumn

At launch, slu.se, the Swedish Species Information Centre (Artdatabanken), and the library websites will be live. This autumn, the University Animal Hospital and the student web will follow. Work on the new intranet will begin in 2026.

Create a profile page

If you wish, you can now create a profile page. To do so, you need to be connected to SLU’s network, but no special access rights are otherwise required. The profile page replaces the current CV page.

Create a profile page – a short guide:

  • Upload a photo, enter your title, and fill in the appropriate predefined fields. If you leave a field empty, the heading for it will not appear in the published version.
  • You can also add custom headings at the bottom of the page.
  • Once you're satisfied, publish the page.
  • To edit your page or create a version in another language, use the links at the bottom of your profile page.
  • If you need additional images or have questions about your profile page, speak with your web editor. If you don’t know who that is, contact the web editorial team.

Get acquainted with the research catalogue

The first version of the new research catalogue is in place, and the web editors have started adding content. The research catalog is a searchable collection of web pages designed to help users find research and contact researchers. If you are a researcher, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the content independently in consultation with your web editor.

Feel free to explore the research catalog now.
