New Board of Education appointed

The vice-chancellor has decided how the future Board of Education will be staffed. The board has the same term of office as the faculty boards: 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.

The chair is Deputy Vice-Chancellor Pär Forslund and Ylva Hillbur, Pro Vice-Chancellor is his personal deputy.

Here are the new members of the Board of Education, their fields of study, and respective personal deputies in brackets:

  • Helena Mellqvist, design (Anna Bengtsson)
  • Stina Drakare, science and technology (Monika Johansson)
  • Dianne Staal Wästerlund, social sciences and humanities (Staffan Stenhag )
  • Jonas Johansson Wensman, veterinary science and management (Eva Sandberg)
  • Malin Elfstrand, qualified in any subject area (Vilis Brukas )

The process

The vice-chancellor will later appoint an external member for the same term.

During the process, the Nomination Committee invited those entitled to vote in faculty board elections to nominate members and deputies for the Board of Education. The nomination period ended on 25 October.

Following interviews and consultation with the vice-chancellor, the Nomination Committee made an overall assessment of the candidates and decided on proposals on 11 November 2024. The vice-chancellor's decision follows the Nomination Committee's proposal.
