News in brief from Faculty Board Meeting on 24 October

Below is a summary of the key decisions made at the Faculty Board meeting on 24 October.

Recruitments

The board decided on the recruitment of professors. All recruitments are subject to approval by the Vice-Chancellor.

Professors

A decision was made to initiate the recruitment of a professor of food science and technology at the Department of Molecular Sciences. This position will replace the professor of food science specialising in animal foods, when the current professor is expected to retire in 2025.

A decision was made to initiate the recruitment of a professor of environmental policy and governance at the Department of Urban and Rural Development. The professor will be responsible for the subject area of political science, which currently has no employed professor.

It was also decided that a professor of terrestrial ecosystem ecology should be recruited at the Department of Ecology. This position will replace the current subject area of ecosystem ecology when the professor retires in the academic year 2025/2026.

Senior lecturers

The board decided to start the recruitment of two senior lecturers. One in the subject of plant ecology at the Department of Crop Production Ecology, and one in the subject of plant physiology at the Department of Plant Biology.

Associate senior lecturers

Finally, it was decided to start the recruitment of an associate senior lecturer in inorganic chemistry at the Department of Molecular Sciences.

Associated professors

The board decided to appoint the following persons as associated professors:

  • Alin Kadfak in the subject of rural development
  • Aurélien Saghai in the subject of biology
  • Brian Kuns in the subject of rural development
  • Danny Chun Pong Lau in the subject of biology with specialisation in ecology
  • Martin Andersson in the subject of agrarian history
  • Nina Lind Ranneberg in the subject of business economics
  • Sara Königson in the subject of biology with specialisation in ecology
  • Vivian Wei Huang in the subject of economics
  • Birgit Köhler in the subject of biology with specialisation in ecology
