On 26 April, the Faculty Board decided in a per capsule decision to appoint Henrik Rönnberg as Vice Dean with responsibility for doctoral studies and gender equality and equal opportunities, effective from 1 May. Within the framework of his Vice Dean assignment, Henrik will therefore become the chair of the doctoral education committee for the remainder of the mandate period, until 31 March 2025. The other members are the same as those appointed in the original decision on 23 March 2022.
Lena Lidfors has resigned from her position as Vice Dean.
The Board decided to revise the guidelines for combining participation in residency programs with doctoral studies. The reason is that the Faculty sees an increased need for specialists with European Diplomate education who are also PhD. This is necessary to ensure clinical expertise in both research and teaching, which is a prerequisite for continued EAEVE accreditation of SLU's veterinary program. The guidelines primarily apply to the doctoral studies component, as the residency component is regulated by each college. The decision will take effect from 1 June 2023.
Faculty Financial Officers Inger Alderborn and Jimmy Karlsson presented the quarterly report for Q1.
Anders Bjurstam provided an update on the progress of major projects at VH.
Henrik Rönnberg described the status of the EAEVE accreditation.
