E-commerce workshops

Published: 15 February 2023

The AgriFoSe2030 ‘Smallholders and the e-commerce of fruits in Vietnam’ project, under Challenge 4, held 2 workshops to illustrate the context and stakeholders’ participation.

The first was a sub-national workshop and training on e-commerce in Moc Chau district of Son La province, and the second was a national workshop organized in Hanoi with some testimonies from smallholder farmers on their involvement in e-commerce of fruit products.

The aim of this project is to:

  1. generate information on urban consumer’s expectations on fruit e-commerce products
  2. identify constraints and enabling conditions for smallholder farmers to meet the expectations
  3. assess the socio-economic impacts of e-commerce of fruit products, including through associated non-farm opportunities, on peri-urban or rural livelihood, and if the impact and opportunities are socially inclusive
  4. promote gender equality and empowerment including for youth, and potentially contribute to rural economic restructuring.
