Recruitment

The board decided to start recruiting for a professor in pet anatomy. Furthermore, the dean presented the situation with the recruitment of higher academic positions regarding the expansion project. Of the sixteen positions, most have been completed, four are in progress and only one remains to begin recruitment.

Economy

It was established that solid work has been carried out within the institutions to get together a budget for the newly merged institutions. The institutions budget funds for research from previously saved capital and performance-based grants, which will generate a deficit. All departments have a stable budget and will also have capital after the budget year 2024. The faculty centrally also invests capital, among other things, in doctoral employment, co-financing of external research projects, and support for the new departments. Animal health care operations are budgeted with a deficit and powerful measures will be implemented to balance finances in the longer term.

Operational plan

Activities included in the faculty's business plan for 2021-2025 were followed up. It was noted that much has been implemented or is underway. The faculty committee made priorities and proposed activities for 2024-2025. The committee proposed, among other things, the following new priorities.

Focus on the working environment for students and employees with clear activities at the departmental level
Marketing of our education in addition to that which is done centrally at SLU
A review of infrastructure for lab operations within VH considers lab infrastructures that exist at other faculties within SLU.

The faculty board also wants to remind everyone to nominate for the selection board no later than January 17.
