A new ID portal in place

SLU students and employees can now use a new portal to easily activate a new account, reset passwords, raise their trust level (Assurance Level) and change passwords.

In the new portal, which can be found at https://idportal.slu.se, you prove your identity by using mobile Bank ID which means that you do not have to visit the IT Service Desk if you forget your password or need to activate a new account. If you do not have a mobile Bank ID, you can still contact the IT Service desk to get help. If you already have a working account, you do not need to do anything at present.

What is meant by Assurance Level?

In order to use certain services such as Ladok, Prisma, Zoom, Canvas and other learning platforms and media services, SLU must have reliable and secure management of user identities. This is defined according to a framework where the base level is Assurance Level 1 and the next level is Assurance Level 2.

The introduction of the new portal, and the use of Bank ID to verify accounts, are some of the steps taken to ensure that SLU now meets the requirements for Assurance Level 2.
